Your Sunday AR & VR Review

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a nice weekend.

I meant to publish this week’s review yesterday but, unfortunately, I was very busy this weekend running around like a headless chicken trying to get a million and one jobs done in a small amount of time! It’s not been a bad weekend, though… just a bit busier than usual. But it’s all good and I am now ready to share this week’s review with you all.

1.The Most Socially-Shared VR Story Of The Week

An artist called Laurie Anderson is using virtual reality to bring words and stories to life. It’s a little hard to explain but I think it’s a virtual world that has been created from fractured languages. I don’t fully understand it but the video is very interesting.

Lucky users will float or fly through mysterious worlds and will be able to see hundreds of letters and words pass them by in a series of twists whilst been immersed in this story telling experience.

2. The Most Socially-Shared AR Story Of The Week

IKEA has built a new and brilliant app using Apples AR kit.

I have talked about this subject on a few occasions now so I won’t go into detail but it looks like furniture shopping is going to become easier and more exciting.

This new app lets users place a superimposed image from the IKEA catalogue into their home or the exact position where they’d like the furniture to be.

I look forward to trying it out.

3. Pennywise Meet Jack, We Aren’t Strangers Now

Who has seen IT? I have and I have to say I jumped a few times!

Anyhow, I found this cool video where Jacksepticeye is immersed into the town of Derry where he is getting freaked out by his surroundings. But it just gets better and better and he has to dive deep into the sewers to discover the mystery surrounding the missing children.

4. The Rise Of AR

With the launch of the ARKit and the MS Hololens, is this graph accurate? I hope so… but who agrees and who doesn’t?

5. Will augmented reality revolutionize the retail space?

Check these videos out as they are awesome. A US company called AISLE 411 is aiming to revolutionize the traditional shopping experience.
