The New Facebook Newsfeed and whether Google+ is applying pressure

Late last week Facebook announced a major revamp of its site and it is a fascinating change. Firstly it is a major overhaul and we are really excited by the changes but secondly, it struck us that it was beginning to morph into the structure of Google+. If you know the two sites you will be interested in the page layout and the navigation on the left hand side and the ability to filter your searches by different settings e.g. Friends, Photos. Secondly there does seem to be a bias towards pictures and other visual elements which will engage the audience more e.g. reviews and check ins showing more information being just one example.

I wonder if Facebook are starting to feel the pressure of a Social Network which seems to be growing in popularity.

All in all I am sure it will be a great amendment and though we could do a good video review of the changes, we found this overview from Facebook themselves and felt it pertinent to share.
