Hasn’t it been hot this week, I’ve just got back from a really nice barbecue at my mum’s house, nice to catch up with family and soak up the last of the sunshine.

1.The Most Socially-Shared VR Story Of The Week

Really enjoyed reading this article and I certainly didn’t expect Topshop to be the most socially shared VR story of the week.

Splash is located at Topshop’s flagship’s store in Oxford Street, London, this is such a good idea and what a great way of saying “It’s Summer”

Shoppers who take on the VR activation with Oculus will start their journey on a giant inflatable before being plunged into an uncanny Oxford Street via the mind-boggling blue slide, sounds awesome and I will definitely have a go.

2. The Most Socially-Shared AR Story Of The Week

Although this is a strictly a prototype Microsoft has certainly gone a long way to show what the future of AR could be, however, it’s early days on the AR front and who know where we will be 5-10 years.

The glasses have an 80-degree field of view and the ability to correct for a person’s astigmatism, allowing virtual objects to be viewed through the AR glasses without additional corrective lenses.

3. Virtual Reality Is Gaining Strength

Apparently, shipments Of VR have spiked to 1047% 8.2 Million Units this year, impressive stats when you take into account that the vast majority of people out there either don’t know VR is capable off.

I do wonder if this is accurate based on the fact that VR is expected to fall back against VR at some stage.

4. How VR Will Change Our Approach to Health & Well-Being

In a few weeks, I’ll be speaking at VR and AR world about the use of AR and VR in the healthcare sector and I have been reading endless articles about the exciting strides being made in Virtual Reality over the past 12 months.

Not only is AR capable of pre-planning operations and optimizing a patient’s survival rate, VR is now simplifying things even further. The adoption of VR technologies will allow healthcare practitioners to tap into data like never before. By utilizing VR hardware in their day-to-day practice, doctors will have access to real-time information as they undertake surgeries, examinations, and diagnosis. Imagine critical information being available at the point it’s needed, my point is information is key. – Make sure you read all the way through as it provides a glimpse into the future of the healthcare space.

5. The Next Great Computer Interface Is Emerging

This is a really funny article if your over the age of 30…

Not long ago, you may hve noticed a kid staring at a smartphone in their front yard. now this isn’t out of the ordinary in fact I would say that sadly its reality 🙂

This youngster was playing Pokémon Go, I was too, however, we both estimated the importance of AR, well after reading this article it seems that VR and AR are slowly converging, I really feel we are the beginning of changing our world into a digital environment.

6. Virtual Reality – Hospice Patients Check Off Their Bucket Lists

The final article of the week and what a lovely way to end the review, I think this is an amazing piece on VR and a brilliant way of displaying its capabilities.

It’s so nice seeing VR bring happiness and joy to someone going through the toughest period of their life.
